Features
What Lychee can help you do.
Processing-first food score
A 1–100 comparison score that prioritizes processing and also considers additives, ingredient quality and nutrition. Incomplete data can limit or prevent a score.
Personalized allergen checks
Compare available product ingredients, allergens and trace statements with a selected profile. Results do not guarantee the absence of an allergen.
Ingredient-label scanning
Read a food or cosmetic ingredient paragraph with OCR when barcode data is missing or incomplete. Review the extracted text against the package.
Cosmetic barcode scanning
Look up cosmetics and personal-care products through Open Beauty Facts and review INCI ingredients, functions and concerns.
Beta cosmetic score
A separate ingredient concern model that considers ingredient coverage, product type and exposure. Low coverage can show Not enough data instead of a score.
Pantry and scan history
Save products and return to previous scans to compare everyday purchases.
Optional Premium
Additional AI explanations, ingredient insights, healthier swaps and ad-free scanning. Availability and offers may differ by platform or app version.

OCR reads label text. Lychee applies its own scoring logic and ingredient dictionaries. Optional AI adds explanations and analysis. Background regulatory links are explained on the data-sources page.
Limits
What a scan does not establish.
- Lychee provides educational label information, not medical advice, diagnosis, treatment or a guarantee of product safety.
- Database records, OCR text and AI explanations can contain errors. Check the current packaging and manufacturer information.
- An ingredient concern is not a measurement of concentration or individual risk. Cosmetic exposure and personal sensitivity matter.
- A barcode or ingredient photo cannot measure heavy metals or microplastics. Estimates and separately sourced laboratory results must be distinguished.
- Coverage varies by product, region and available data. Lychee does not guarantee recognition of every barcode or ingredient.
- App features, Premium access and offers can change. Check the current app-store listing and in-app offer.
